ReplyDeleteHey i added it to my blog.. After that all my posts disappeared !! What i mean is when i click on a post title, i get a blank page only. Just a couple of posts are working fine rest all the posts are facing this problem. I have removed the hack from the blog now but still facing the same issue. Please help.
ReplyDelete@ Anshul
ReplyDeleteThis may be because you may have some tag left open.
Make sure you apply the hack correctly.
Provide your blog address.So i can look at it.
Knowledge hub is working fine as i see now
Mmm Ishan... if this work can u make an example? A really demo? Because with ur instructions really desaooear all content from a post.
ReplyDeleteSo sad...
I'll keep trying.
Good Luck
This is exactly what I was looking for but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I pasted the code and inserted my blog id as described and my blog isn't any different. Maybe you can see what I did wrong. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHey its nice, isn't it..
I tried this and nothing happened. I didn't see the "Reply" button. This is my second time trying. Please email me at eden.richardson15@gmail.com and my blog URL is www.heirsofpromise.net
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi,
ReplyDeletei've did the steps correctly, but still the reply link not appears.
in fact, i did as what in thisischen said, but no changes also.
probably u cld help me to solve this problem.
my blog: http://cleoputri.blogspot.com/
email: cleoputri@gmail.com
thank you so much :)
@Keshav
ReplyDeleteJust seeing how this works ;)
Unfortunately I have to confirm this hack does not work. Reply option does not show and if clicking through comments section the article disappears leaving only the widget side bar shifted from right to left.
ReplyDeleteUsing blogger in draft. Looks like I have to sign up to another solution. Thanks for trying for us though to make replies possible without.
Barnaby, I'm sooo glad you posted this comment! I tried this hack a few weeks ago and it didn't work. I didn't undo the changes I made to my HTML and shortly afterwards I noticed the same problem you described where the article is missing and the widget is to the left. I forgot what I did to cause the problem...and wasn't even sure if it was a problem with the HTML or a glitch with Blogger. Long story short, I subscribed to these comments and when you left the note I realized that this was the problem! I'm so happy that I was able to fix it. :-D Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Barnaby
ReplyDeleteActually I think I know what it is. I've been looking at some other posts on the subject, easy to find. It looks like you missed the '+' sign several times in front of 'data:post.id' , 'data:comment.anchorName' and 'data:comment.author'. The trouble with cut and paste is symbols can disappear depending on the app you use. I'm surprised nobody worked this out so far. It works now :) .
@Eden
ReplyDeleteHi Eden,
glad to help. If you're still subscribed it's working like this:
"; + data:comment.anchorName" (that is space, plus symbol, space) in the three places as indicated in my other post. Enjoy.
@Barnaby
ReplyDeleteWhen i compare above code with my template code,i too find that the + signs are missing in several positions.
So i edit the hack and now it is working fine.
Thanks for your effort Barnaby and Eden.

@Admin
ReplyDeleteCool. Thanks!
So I think I have the + signs in the right places, but I don't know how to get that little "reply" button in the right spot- right now I have a question mark spot there...help!
ReplyDeletemarshallandangie(at)gmail(dot)com
@Angie
ReplyDeleteIF you look carefully There is an image tag(at the end) in the code i provided above...
<**img style='float:right;padding-right:100px' title='Reply to comment' alt='Reply to comment' src='URL OF image'*/*>
make sure you add proper image url in the code....and place your code after data:commentPostedByMsg/
Sorry, I don't understand how this is better than simply posting a comment yourself! I hope the reply would go underneath the perso's comment, but it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI added the additional code as stated but I do not see a reply button on my comments.

This works great in Firefox but only one reply button on the first comment appears in IE. None of the later comments have the reply button in IE even though they are there if you view the same page/comments in Firefox.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!!!!!! thanx for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteHi - the only thing that would make this better is if the reply would actually start a thread instead of going to the bottom of the page. I'm sure someone as savvy as you can do it ;)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you do... I'll keep looking.
wow..thanks for the tips..I'll try it..!!

ReplyDeleteHey I was just wondering how is everything working now with the blogger comments. Did anything happen to your comments a long with everyone else ? Or r u good.
I was looking for a way that I can post a reply as an admin. Do anyone here know how to do that ?
Seems to be working great for me so far! Glad I found this. Such a silly thing for Blogger to leave out...
ReplyDeleteIt's working! But when I click the hypertext of the one I replied, it goes to the post and not on his profile. Why? Can you answer me, please? THANK YOU. But still, i love it :)
ReplyDeletedone it! this is awesome .. thnx a million :)

This was super helpful in letting me know how to add a 'Reply' button in my comments, but does this actually let that person know i've replied to their comment individually? I placed the codes properly, and I see the 'reply' button, but when I click on 'reply' it takes me to a pop-up window showing ALL the comments. After posting my reply, it just looks like a Twitter mention with the "@" symbol w/ that specific person's ID name.
ReplyDeletePlease check my blog to see what I'm trying to say (before I end up typing an essay here LOL): thelipjunkie.blogspot.com
Thanks in advance.
